SEWING CLASSES AND FASHION DESIGN WORKSHOPS weekly

• You will learn how to use a domestic sewing machine. Slowly and safely. If you listen carefully you will not sew your fingers! We will practise before we start sewing. When you are accurate you can start with sewing threads!

• Already a whizz on the sewing machine? We will refresh and practise your sewing machine skills before we start. the sewing. When you are accurate you can start sewing! You will thread a domestic sewing machine ready to start sewing. We will help you, so don’t worry if you’ve forgotten things!

• Feel free to bring your favourite t-shirts or denim to decorate. As well as decorative stitching techniques, we will show you how to do hand sewing, hand embroidery and applique to customise and upcycle your wardrobe.  We want to protect and promote these traditional skills and craftsmanship so they can be passed on to future generations.

• Love drawing? We can show you how to develop your fashion designing and illustration techniques, as well as how to create mood boards, plan colour palettes and choose fabrics.

• We will teach you all the technical terms as you learn. You can write notes in your free My Fashion Club sketchbook provided by us. We are here to help you to become your own fashion designer!

• All sewing machines, fabrics, threads and trims are provided. We use recycled fabric donations collected from the design departments of fashion brands around London including Roland Mouret, Topshop, River Island, Coast, Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, and Archive Vintage of Woodbridge.
